In Nephyrae The Vampire Hunters, Heaven and Bronson have moved in together and are trying their best to lead normal lives, whilst coming to terms with the problems they both inevitably face as Bronson tries to supress the other half of him that is not human (or maybe more than human), the Nephyrae.
If that wasn't challenging enough, a innocent trip to the local diner suddenly plunges them into a nightmare of threats, violence and fear as they come face to face with the Hunters, whose sole purpose is to kill all paranormal entities.
As Bronson's girlfriend, Heaven is very much in love with her gorgeous hunky man, but as the girlfriend of a Nephyrae it also leaves her extremely vulnerable.
The Hunters want to get Bronson by any and all means possible. What does this mean for Heaven and just how much can her love and loyalty be tested?

The second installment in the series sees Bronson and Heaven locked in a battle of persecution and mortal threat by a gang of sadistic and violent killers, the Hunters.
Bronson must act when his girlfriend, Heaven, is kidnapped by a group of people who want to kill him. To kill him for being,as they see it, a monster. He is a Nephyrae, a race that is almost human but something more at the same time. And, something less.
Bronson seeks help from other paranormals like him to get into the building where Heaven is being held captive. One of the people he gets to help him is an ex-lover, a beautiful woman who holds a deadly secret, even more dangerous than her looks.
Will Heaven lure Bronson to his death or can the paranormals use their awesome powers to unleash terror in the Hunters Emporium and get her out?

The last installment in the series finds Bronson and Heaven seeking a new life away from constant danger, but where can they go that will be safe and how can they get there?
Bronson and Heaven have decided they have to get out of the city. The Hunters are threatening their lives and nowhere seems safe. Bronson is their real target. He's the Nephyrae. Heaven is a normal human girl, but the Hunters have already shown they'll use her to get to him.
With the help of friends, including Bronson's ex-girlfriend, they make a plan to leave. Heaven is upset about the ex-girlfriend being a part of their escape plan. Until Bronson proposes. It would be a happy moment in their lives, if the Hunters hadn't found them again, and if Bronson hadn't been fatally shot. Heaven is forced to defend him, but can she save his life?

This set of short stories were all packaged together in this all encompassing tale of a Nephyrae and his lady love. Having never read about a nephyrae before, I was suitably curious about this new spin on some older paranormal ideas.Heaven (I know, you get over her name) is an unemployed woman living alone at the start of this story. After getting a call from a bar she applied to, she ends up starting work as a waitress. It's there that she meets Bronson. He seems like a simple bartender, but that wouldn't make a very entertaining paranormal tale. Turns out, Bronson is a nephyrae, which is a sort of vampire-related-snake-like-energy-sucking-being. He reveals this after saving Heaven from a would-be attacker, expecting her to run from him. Heaven, however, surprises him by accepting his otherwordly affliction and soon becoming his live-in girlfriend. Things go downhill from there.
As a paranormal weirdo, Bronson has attracted the attention of some monster hunters that make a bunch of attempts at killing him and/or Heaven. During the very last of the book, he ends up putting together his own interesting group of monsters to fight the hunters. The series/short-story set ends with Heaven and Bronson getting maybe the happiest ending you could expect in a very violent world. I guess there are no more of these stories, which is sad because I'd like to see what Bronson and Heaven do next with their lives.

This story had a nice departure from your typical vampire story. The characters are well developed and you find yourself rooting for Heaven and Bronson. Is a great fast read on to book two.
This book get four star because it was great but i did not like how the story repeated the same thing at the beginning of the different sections
These were excellent stories! I wish they were longer and made into a book series. I would purchase for sure!!!
My main complaint is that everything in this moves too fast.
Each "short story" part of the "compilation" is about half the size of a chapter.
Honestly, the whole thing needs more fleshing out and stitching together to make one good novel length story.
The story in itself has a great plot line that seems to be unique from the typical vampire romance. With that said, that is where the positive side to this ends. The book is in desperate need of an editor. The use of punctuation is extremely lacking. There are also major jumps in the story that leave you saying, "What???". For instance, the main characters meet for drinks after work and then the story skips ahead to them being in love a moving in together. Hmmm....even a little build up to this would have been nice, but it is literally one paragraph to the next. There is no separation between scenes. It is really the equivalent to a bad ride at an amusement park. The story could be great with a lot of work, but I'm glad I got this copy for free because there is no way I would pay for this.
